Take a bike ride to the South end of the Island. The Beach is approximately 7 miles end to end.
Take a walk over the bridge for some awesome views! Grab lunch at Doc Ford’s or Dixie Fish.
Take a drive to the Manatee Park on northside of downtown Fort Myers where Manatee like to visit during colder months. They are not captive so best to go during colder months to see them.
If you like to shop, there's several beach shops on the Beach or drive down to Santini Plaza with several swimsuit shops and more. There's an outlet mall nearby too.
There's nearby parks like Lakes Park with splash pools for the little ones.
And don't forget about the Beach's Bay Oaks Recreation Center with large pool and water slide, splash park, tennis courts, gym with classes and much more for a small daily fee.
Enjoy a day on Sanibel/Captiva – about 30 minutes without traffic…rent bikes, see the Sanibel Lighthouse. Stop at the Island Cow for lunch...Yum! Hit the beach and find shells…lots to be had on Sanibel! End the day at The Mucky Duck in Captiva for a beautiful sunset! If you’re a bird watcher, include a drive through J N “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge.
Check out the Winter Estates of Ford and Edison-Follow up with lunch at Ford’s Garage downtown Fort Myers…great burger options! And specialty beers! Some fun shopping too.
Look for fun events downtown Fort Myers. Lots of good dining! Try Firestone’s Skybar!
Putt-putt at Smugglers Cove and feed the baby gators! Castle Golf really nice too.
Try the new Tiger Woods designed putting course, PopStroke!
Walk the boardwalk at Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve, might catch the gators sunning.
Golf…lots of courses to try! Shell Point and The Dunes on Sanibel are nearby.
Lots of boating options: Rent a pontoon and explore the intercostal; charter a fishing outing; sign-up for one of the many boat tour options like dolphin or sunset tours; rent kayaks at Lovers Key; And don’t forget the pirate ship, fun for kids but there’s adult trips too! Try the new Tiki Sunset Cruise!
Take a ride down to Lovers Key and walk the hiking paths or explore the beauty of the beaches. Great time to check out Santini Plaza or Flippers for lunch after your hike!
For other natural beach beauty, walk to Bowditch Park at north end perhaps you’ll find a gopher tortoise lounging; Take a stroll thru the paths/boardwalk at Matanzas Pass Preserve.
Take a drive to Sun Harvest Citrus and buy seasonal fruits
For the younger ones, Zoomers Park offers arcade games and outdoor rides.
Take an hour and a half ride to Everglades City and enjoy an airboat ride at Captain Jack’s Hit Camellias Street Grill for lunch or dinner too…great stop!
Fishermen’s Village in Punta Gorda. About an hour away with lots of shops and restaurants. Located on a wharf, its mostly covered so great for a rainy day outing.
Try Tin City in Naples, another good rainy day trip.
Lots of fun events to look for too! See fireworks at the 4th and New Years Eve; Shrimp Fest in March; Taste of the Beach in May; Songwriters in Fall; First Fridays in downtown Fort Myers with live music in the streets; Many good restaurants in Fort Myers too! Art in the Park in February is another fun time downtown Fort Myers. There's the Off Shore Boat Races in October and American Sand Sculptures in November. And so many more fun events!
